Where do you turn to gain knowledge about managing or improving skills as a small acreage owner in Central Oregon? Well, you can come to the Living on a Few Acres Conference (LOAFA), a one day conference, held right here in Redmond! LOAFA is put on by OSU Extension with the help of several other agencies, and in 2019 will be held March 9th at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds. Each year over 20 classes are presented on topics including water rights and water use efficiency, livestock and small barnyard animals, food preservation, crop and forage production, and preserving the natural resources on your property. These classes offer a solid foundation to thrive as a small acreage landowner. New classes for this year include ideas on: marketing tips, repairing disturbed ground, farm dogs, hoophouses, tractor skills, and more! We hope you will join us on March 9 from 8-5 to learn new skills, new knowledge and converse with old friends.
Registration costs $50 before March 3rd, and $60 at the door. Find registration at this link:
